Integrated circuit is a single semiconductor crystal or a chip which can perform the operation of resistors, capacitor, diodes and transistors in various combination. I.C. chip are compact in size and very light and very economical. This was invented in 1958.
There are different types of I.C. available but the most common I.C. used is known as Monolithic I.C.
Advantages:
1. The circuit can be made simple by using I.C
2. It is light in weight .
3. Easy to test the circuits.
4. Complicated and long circuits can be designed.
5. Cost of the circuit is less.
6. It has good looking.
Disadvantages:
In case of damage of any component the complete I.C. has to be replaced.
